Description: Purpose:
The purpose of the Senior Systems Engineer is to design, plan, implement and monitor the systems infrastructure including storage, computing, database management, and networking.
Key
Responsibilities:
1.Advise multiple, cross-functional teams through work activity by establishing goals, schedules and performance metrics to deliver business value.
2.Serve as an escalation point for System Administrators, other Engineers, and peers within the ICT organization.
with various members of the ICT team on infrastructure, network, backup, and systems design.
4.Creates and improves documentation to support and improve problem resolution time and analysis.
support and input to project management and development teams to assist in successful project completion and support.
6.Work in conjunction with the ICT Manager to provide career progression for the system engineer and system administrators.
7.Participate in Incident Response teams to address production or security related issues.
8.Participate in an on-call rotation as an escalation point.
9.Deploy and maintain core infrastructure in our Datacenters, warehouses, and manufacturing facilities.
10.Work to automate tasks and processes with scripting and automation tools.
11.Develops and improves ICT departmental processes for continuous work environment improvement
develop, implement and support the appropriate testing of the Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plans
Qualifications: 1.Must be able to apply the seven principles of the KOMATSU Way to their everyday work activities where applicable.
2.BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related professional experience
3.4-7 years of implementing operating systems, networking or database environments
4.Master in at one domain either network, Windows OS, LINUX, HP-UX operating system or SQL Server , Informix database
5.Demonstrate knowledge and experience for 3 or more project planning and designing networks, Server Farms or Storage in a complex data center
6.Good communication skills with the ability to communicate through verbal and written modes to all levels of the business
7.Ability to work closely with others in a team environment
8.Ability to act quickly in crisis situations
Additional Information:Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
